Conventions
OpCon
The convention held by my old High School (Oak Park and River Forest HS) Science Fiction and Fantasy Club. I was there at the beginning, and will continue to attend so long as it continues to be. On occasion I run Pickup games there, in hopes of leading some of the next generation of Geeks back to actual RPG's that require Paper, Pencils, and Imagination, as opposed to Computer RPG's
According to the OPRFHS website, OP-Con XIV is scheduled for May 1, 2004. Happy 11th anniversary to me. I'll keep watching to see if they get the Web Site updated. Of course, with it being on my anniversary, I'm not as sure I'll be going this year.
Fire And Ice
My first trip up to this one up in Sheboygan this year. Fire and Ice 2004. Originally, Fantasy Aspirations was contacted to organize a LARP night, but that fell through. But I went, ran a couple of 7th Sea demo games, and got a good feel for what would work if Fantasy Aspirations wants to try again next year.
Gen-Con
The Big Daddy of Gaming Conventions. I've been attending since 1990 and running games since 1991. Starting in '99, I tried to put up extra information about the games on my website. Haven't always succeeded in putting up more than I send to the Con, but hey. In 2002, I signed on with Fantasy Aspirations so that Anne could deal with any headaches that were caused by the convention rather than me.
