Zapatara
The Zytanya are a people quick to passion. And the knife fighting school that they make famous is no exception. Excellent both in combat and as a mesmerizing dance, Zapatara is often used for both. While many of the Zytanya may know how to use a sword, they are obvious and can easily be confiscated. But everyone has some reason to carry a knife, and the Zytanya make full use of the small blade, to deadly effect.
Basic Curriculum: Knife, Performer
Swordsman Knacks: Double Attack, Double Parry, Tagging
Apprentice
The Zapatarista learn to use knives in their off hand as easily as their dominant one, to facilitate using both hands to equal effect. They may use a knife in their off hand at no penalty. In addition, the smaller blades make them quick. They may roll, not keep, a number of extra action dice equal to their Mastery Level
Journeyman
The Zapatarista move now so effortlessly, that they are much more difficult to hit. They receive +5 to their TN to be hit with all Passive Defense, and 1 free raise to both Parry (Knife) and Footwork for Active Defense.
Master
Now the final secret is taught. The Zapatarista has learned to make her moves so seductive that onlookers cannot help but stop and stare at her. Roll Dancing + Panache against a TN of the opponent’s Resolve x5. If successful the opponent looses one action. The Zapatarista may make 2 raises to increase the number of actions lost at a rate of 2/1 (1 extra action/2 raises). The TN is –10 if her opponent is of the opposite gender.
