Pritzka Pritzka, or "fortune", has many similarities to both the apprentice abilities of the Fate Witch, and at higher levels the inscribing ability of the Rune Mages of the Vestenmanjavenjar. But it is neither, though it can be as powerful as either one. It is not passed through heritage but by teaching, though many times the teacher is the parent and the student the child, and it’s origins are unknown. Pritzka is traditionally practiced by the peasantry of the Wakenlyan and by the Zytanya, and so does not reduce the cost of buying the Noble Advantage. Knacks Health, Romance, Money, Family, Chance The Pritzkya’s Knack times Mastery Level is added to the rolls indicated by each knack. Health: Adds to wound checks against all sources of damage, and to Doctor knacks used on the Hero Romance: Adds to Charm witty repartee, and Seduction rolls Money: Adds to Gambling and monthly income checks Family: Adds to Scrounging and Shopping rolls, and reputation rolls based on your family name, or other rolls that help your apparent standing within your family Chance: Adds to "luck" rolls, perception rolls, and other situations where the GM randomly determines the Hero chosen for something neutral or beneficial. Apprentice: Prayer The Pritzkya prays for the hero’s good fortune. Roll Knack + Wits, TN 15. The Hero gets the benefit of the knack for the next appropriate action in the scene. If no appropriate action occurs before the end of the scene, the prayer is lost. Adept: Potions Pritzkya creates a potion or salve to aid the Hero. Roll Knack + Wits, TN 25. The hero gets the benefit of the knack for one day, plus a day for every raise the roll was made by. If no raises were called, divide the amount the TN was passed by 10, rounding down, for days of extra effect. These benefits do not begin until the Hero uses the potion. However, the Potion’s viability only lasts so long. For Adepts, it only lasts a number of months equal to the Adept’s rank in the appropriate Knack. For Masters, the potion can last for the same number of years. Master: Charms The Pritzkya creates a charm or talisman for the Hero. Roll Knack +Wits TN 35 after creating the item (whatever rolls are needed there). The Hero gets the benefits of the knack so long as the charm is on his person for a duration of 15 years.
